Life Transitions

The purpose of the Life Transitions program is to help people who have finished schoolwork with skills that they need to become more independent in their community. In the Life Transitions Program, you will talk about the things that might happen after high school - like getting a job, taking more classes at college or other places, and living independently.

You can participate in the program if:

  • You have an intellectual disability.

  • You have support from a family member or close friend who can help you.

  • You want to work!

  • You can attend regular weekly meetings at our Halifax office.

In this program you will:

  • Talk about your goals for your future.

  • Continue to develop work and life skills.

  • Learn about community job opportunities.

  • Continue to learn about time management skills.

  • Learn how to take care of yourself.

  • Be more included in the community.
