Employment Partnerships Specialist (Halifax)
POSITION: Full-time employment (37.5 hours per week)
Salary: $60,000 Annual + benefits
Contract to March 2027 (with a possibility of extension)

By championing empowerment, we open doors to possibilities. Ready, Willing & Able (RWA), our national initiative, gives employers the tools for inclusive hiring. Since 2014, RWA has connected over 4,000 people on the autism spectrum or with intellectual disabilities with meaningful work.
About the Role
Reporting directly to the Executive Director, the Employment Specialist (Nova Scotia) will deliver the Ready, Willing and Able employment initiative in Nova Scotia and support the organization's inclusive employment work. In this role, you will proactively engage with the community to identify and create employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities. In addition to making calls and reaching out to businesses, this person should demonstrate strong collaboration and relationship-building skills.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead targeted business outreach across industries to champion the value of inclusive hiring.

Inspire employers to expand their talent pool by welcoming people with intellectual disabilities and those on the autism spectrum into their teams.

Connect hiring needs with a skilled talent pool, building a supportive community around job seekers and employees with intellectual disabilities or autism.

Develop partnerships with community employment agencies and service organizations to identify job seekers to fill open roles.

Deliver engaging presentations and practical resources for business groups, spotlighting the strengths and value of individuals with intellectual disabilities or autism bring to the workplace.

Capture and share stories of meaningful new hires who are changing workplaces for the better.
Additional Responsibilities

Ensure adequate and ongoing information dissemination, development of tools and resources, and development and delivery of public awareness efforts.

Participate in national RWA communication and marketing campaign activities, including social media, LinkedIn, etc.

Attend monthly national RWA team conference calls.

Liaise and maintain working relationships with the RWA national team and provincial partners.

Meet all reporting and documentation requirements of the national RWA program, including, but not limited to, completing quarterly reporting and maintaining the client management database.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience

Experience engaging and building partnerships with businesses and organizations around sales and/or hiring.

Strong interpersonal skills, with the talent to communicate effectively with people from all walks of life and experiences

Knowledge of local labour market issues and trends.

Understanding issues for people with intellectual disability and autism in obtaining employment. Awareness of and commitment to full inclusion for people with intellectual disability and autism, including the right to employment and economic participation.

Excellent presentation, facilitation, and public speaking skills.

Proficiency in MS Office Applications and client relationship management software. Aptitude for learning new online systems and tools.

A valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle.

Post-secondary education in a related field and/or equivalent experience.
Working Conditions
Flexibility is required based on deadlines and requirements. Occasional evening and weekend work required.
