Lois Landry
Lois Landry is a recently retired educator who has served as a psychologist, teacher, guidance counsellor, and administrator with schools primarily in the Strait Region. Lois has always believed in the importance of community schooling and considers herself fortunate to have spent the lion’s share of her career working in schools where she grew up.
Lois has one son, Frankie, who was diagnosed with autism when he was two, and epilepsy as a teen. Her commitment to advocacy for persons with disabilities pre-dates her son’s arrival, but her passion for supporting those who are vulnerable became even more pronounced after Frankie came along.

A passionate advocate for supporting school-aged children, Lois has spent the last several years on the Ark Board with L’Arche Cape Breton and more recently with the Hearts of Isle Madame Disability Society. As implementation of the Human Rights Remedy unfolds, Lois finds herself interested in the intersection between disability rights and housing. She has followed the work of Inclusion NS and looks forward to contributing to the important work this organization takes on. She recently completed a stint as Special Advisor to the Minister of Community Services and is a declared candidate in the upcoming municipal elections in Richmond County.
