Rebuilding HOPE: Places to Call Home
Join us for a conversation about home, housing, and community.
People with disabilities and their families will talk about how to create homes and lives rooted in choice, belonging, and their community.
Four regional conferences will take place across Nova Scotia in November 2026.
What We’ll Talk About
We will learn together by sharing stories, looking at real-life examples, and talking in groups.
The day will include:
-
A welcome, land acknowledgement, and prayer with an Elder.
-
Families sharing their stories about what home means to them.
-
A Human Rights Remedy update from the Nova Scotia provincial government.
-
New ways to think about the future and what is possible.
-
Conversations about home, housing, and supports.
-
Sharing ideas for action.
Janet Klees and Selena Blake from the Durham Association for Family Resources in Ontario will help lead the event.
Drinks, snacks, and lunch will be provided free.
