The National Housing Council is now accepting applications!

The National Housing Council is now accepting applications! The National Housing Council is a key component of the recently passed National Housing Strategy (NHS) Act.


The Council will be tasked with providing advice to the Minister responsible for the NSH Act and will help promote accountability, participation and inclusion in keeping with a human rights-based approach to housing.


Any Canadian who is 18 years of age and older (as of January 1, 2019) can apply for this unique opportunity. The Council will have up to 15 diverse individuals, with different backgrounds, including individuals with lived expertise of housing need or homelessness, as well as those who have expertise in human rights. Appointed by the Minister, members will serve for a three-year term.
